We are deeply grateful to announce that Jamileh Naso, and the Yazidi community through the Canadian Yazidi Association have joined the Alliance of Genocide Victim Communities (AGVC).

The Yazidis carry a story that is both ancient and urgent. For centuries, they have held fast to their unique identity and traditions despite repeated waves of persecution. In our time, the genocide carried out by ISIS in 2014 inflicted a devastating wound: mass killings, displacement, and the abduction of women and children. These scars remain, but so does a profound strength.

Jamileh has been a steadfast voice for her community here in Canada. She has spoken with clarity and compassion about the struggles Yazidis face as they rebuild, and about the responsibility the world shares in standing with survivors. Her presence within AGVC will help ensure that Yazidi experiences and perspectives shape our shared work for justice and prevention.

For us, welcoming the Yazidi community is not only about remembrance, it is about building connections across communities who understand, in different ways, the weight of loss and the necessity of hope. Together, our voices grow stronger, our stories reach further, and our collective determination to end the cycle of genocide becomes harder to ignore.

We welcome Jamileh and the Yazidi community with open hearts. May this partnership deepen our solidarity and help bring healing, justice, and renewed dignity for all survivors.
